Makes them last longer and reduces their chance of rusting. I also see it as a prudent move to keep the sharp kitchen blades out of reach of small unpredictable children who like to meddle in what they shouldn't and always seem to be attracted to an open dishwasher.<BR/><BR/>My wife pointed out to me that you have posted and I felt her unspoken wish that I also post some more. I suppose I will.
