Little Kitchen Update

Prior to moving in, the builder asked us if we wanted to add the built-in desk upgrade for the small price of 9 thousand dollars. Gulp. We passed. After being here a year we then contacted the cabinet maker and asked him to price it out independently. The bid ended up being half of the nine thousand--still too much in our eyes--and involved some air vent issues that would likely end up being quite complicated.

Plan B: buy a counter level walnut dining set from Kmart (click here to view), sell the bar stools and use the $ towards a stainless steel stool, add stainless steel shelves from PB (just went on sale! Click here to view), the G5 , and beautiful cookbooks I already own and voila, we have ourselves a fantastic new space. This look better reflects our style than a built-in desk AND it cost only a few hundred dollars. I LOVE a good deal!
