Fruit Cup

An adorable retro diner in NYC, Kitchenette, serves up their puddings and custards in old-fashioned mini mason jars. Given how easy it is to find that type of thing around here, I thought I'd give it a whirl. I made a large fruit salad (papaya, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, asian pears, fresh lemon juice) and put them in individual cups for the kids to enjoy as snacks. To ensure they would be eaten, I placed them on a low shelf in the fridge.

The best part? My kids get to enjoy a healthy snack AND I don't have to hear "Mommy, I'm hungry for a snack" over and over and over. Priceless I tell you.

For me I added a dollop of creme fraiche and a little mint from my yard. Yum!
