To Do SLC: C.G. Sparks

• 23 July 2007

Last week I showed SF pal Neylan around town in efforts to convince her to move here in the near future : )

We hit:

* Hip and Humble
* Koo de Ker
* 13th and 13th
* Liberty Heights Fresh
* Dolcetti Gelato
* C.G. Sparks
* Xocolat

In August I'll Be Taking Her To:

* Cactus & Tropicals
* Whimsy
* Les Madeleines
* Hatch Family Chocolates

Did I miss anything else fantastic?

C.G. Sparks, Furniture with Soul as they say, is an interesting addition to Salt Lake. They specialize in reclaimed wood furniture and antiques from countries like Nepal, Tibet and India. It is a feast for the eyes. The exterior is quite modern (it's a rehabbed steel plant of some sort) but once you walk inside you feel as if you've stepped back in time. Although the type of furniture isn't quite my style, I enjoyed perusing. It's one-of-a-kind to be sure so stop on by on your way back from the Gateway.

  1. I don't know your friend Neylan, but for me, one of the biggest draws about this place is the mountains. I'd be hitting all the canyons - Mill Creek, Big & Little Cottonwood. Mirror Lake area is AMAZING. There's also American Fork canyon and, of course, Park City.
