Mount Auburn Cemetary...in Autumn

• 03 November 2007

Some of you may find this strange, but you Boston residents will likely agree, that Mount Auburn Cemetary is a beautiful place to visit. In the Fall I love the vibrant colors and crunchy leaves tumbling across the many footpaths dotting the hillsides; in Spring I enjoy the lily-of-the-valley popping up by the turtle pond; and in Summer I enjoy climbing to the top of the little tower for the amazing view. Who knew a cemetary could be so lovely and so appropriate of a place to visit?

My sister, who lives in Boston, sent me a beautiful letterpressed card for my birthday along with this polaroid of Mount Auburn Cemetary, which she knows is one of my favorite places in the Boston area. It is a daily reminder of our beautiful life in Boston not too long ago.

Click here to find directions to the cemetary. The official site is seductive, in a natural kind of way :)

  1. Oh, Steph, it made me feel all warm inside to see that the picture was received as I intended it. Thanks again for introducing me to that and so many other great places in Boston that I still enjoy!
