Serious Eye Candy

If you're like me, you are just a little curious about the transformations that take place at Anthropologie stores seasonally. The details are numerous and the creativity is out of this world. I always wonder, "who does this for a living?", and "do they know how lucky they are?". I'm sure they do.

An interesting tidbit of information...did you know this is the average Anthropologie customer? 30 to 45 years old, college or post-graduate education, married with kids or in a committed relationship, professional or ex-professional, annual household income of $150,000 to $200,000.

Here is an insider's view into the transformation of a Whole Foods store to an Anthropologie boutique. It's pretty fascinating. It sounds like the visual team has enormous creative license, which I find very cool.

See more flickr photos here.

And a delightful article in the SF Chronicle about why we, as women, love anthropologie...like we had to have it explained to us or something.

Oh and if you haven't had enough, read a little ditty about the lucky Found Objects Buyer for Anthropologie who travels multiple continents as a full-time job.

  1. You would have to have at least a little cash to be shopping there regularly! And nope, I can see that it's not a high schooler's typical dress either. Wami LOVES that place.

  2. I am always in awe of the details they put into the store. They always come up with the coolest decorations!
