Family Portrait...Urban Style
• 14 December 2007
I saw Leah's blog last week and couldn't stop thinking about some of the photographs she took--namely the ones of families. It's not often you see a unique family portrait...you know, the ones sans denim and khaki :) She seemed to capture families well.
I went to bed Friday night and dreamt of the red background shown here. I woke up the next morning and knew we needed to pull this off somehow....and we did thanks to Leah.
I'm so happy with all the results I am having a difficult time deciding which one to include in a Christmas card. You wouldn't know from the pictures that it was cold (26 degrees)and it was nap time (only time that worked for both of us on that particular day).
Many thanks to Amy & Katie for entertaining the kids so well and for helping them find their happy faces despite the less-than-ideal conditions.
what a beautiful family you are! and I love that top one, with the red metal door!

ReplyDeleteprecious...and I have to know where you found your boots!
ReplyDeleteKimberley, I found them during a winter clearance sale at a local boutique called Whimsy. You should check it out when you are in town next to see if you can find any good deals!
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos! We are (hopefully) getting some done this Saturday at my husband's grandpa's barn. Hopefully we can get one similar to the one at the top!

ReplyDeleteDefinitely the best Christmas card photos I've ever seen... those are ones that the kids won't be embarrassed about when they get older!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, I love them! Leah did a fantastic job and I love that it was such a family affair...my family! My sister, two sister in laws and leah (who might as well be family!) all in one spot. I missed out...
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for coming down and letting me get my camera on your cute family!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! What a cute family you have. I recognize you and your husband from somewhere, and I am currently going through my database mind to remember where from.
ReplyDeleteWow, stunning pictures. I really like them all, especially the S picture.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous, gorgeous photos!
