Perfect Pencil Skirt

One would think that finding the perfect black skirt would be simple...I mean, aren't there black skirts everywhere? Ironically, I find it quite difficult to find a skirt that isn't ill-fitting, and made of easily-maintained material (as in not a cotton/spandex mix). Does anyone else have this problem? Perhaps my expectations are too high, even for a wardrobe staple such as this.
