stephmodo: Old Building, Modern Use

Old Building, Modern Use

• 15 May 2008

I really appreciate seeing historic buildings used for modern purposes. I'm sure it's far more expensive most of the time to renovate an old turn-of-the-century building or even a pioneer-era building, but I'm so thrilled when someone goes to the effort of doing so.

After foregoing the 14-car line at the Washington, Utah In N Out Burger, we opted instead for the local mom and pop joint, The Burger Place. En route we discovered this 150-year-old building being used at a large nursery in town. If I lived in that area, I'd buy all my plants there just to support them. The fact that I stopped to take a photograph says it all!

  1. I used to work right across the way from that building and always admired it also. I frequented the Burger Place too. Just a couple blocks south of there is one of the best houses in Utah (in my opinion). It might even be on the historical register, but the best part about it is that it's being LIVED in. Really lived in.

  2. I love this building too...I stopped to take a photo as well one of the times we were in St. George.
