I volunteer with many-a-lovely-lady at my church and one of them was kind enough to re-introduce me to the Mansfield Park soundtrack. I find it makes perfect background music to my often chaotic day. In fact, I'm listening to it right now...
Sometimes I wish I lived back in that era; especially after reading a book by Jane Austen or after seeing a movie based on her books. The cinematography, music and costumes are always exquisite. I do wonder, however, if it was really as romantic as I've made it out to be in my mind.
P.S. Has anyone seen Northanger Abbey--the version that came out last year? I've read the book and am curious about the movie...
Northanger Abbey is my favourite out of every book I have ever read, so when the movie came out I made sure to see it! And then I saw it again! And again! It takes a couple of viewings to really notice all the small details, but once you see them, it is a fantastic movie! I hope you get a chance to see it soon!
ReplyDeleteI watched all the new versions of the JA books on PBS early this year...if my memory is corrected I liked Northanger Abbey.
ReplyDeletei watched it on pbs as well. it's not my favorite austen book, or movie, but this version was really well done and i think the casting was great, too. it's fun to watch, and if you're an austen fan at all, it's definitely a must-see!
