stephmodo: Modern Succulents

Modern Succulents

• 24 October 2008

You don't have to live in Phoenix to display succulents...anywhere is just fine! The best part of succulents is their low-maintenance nature. If you forget to water...no big deal. They like it like that.

I spotted some gorgeous succulents recently at locally-owned Cactus & Tropicals. After watching one of the talented staff members put together a modern display in a large square glass vase, complete with contemporary-looking white polished river rocks, I became sold on the idea of succulents.

If you want to start off with something simpler, something you could easily do yourself, check out this look from Housemartin. In the past my favorite sources for polished river rocks are Pottery Barn and Big Lots :)

  1. loving them. do you know if "hen and chicks" are considered succulents? I wanted to put some in a little dish for a friend who miscarried.

  2. Kimberly,

Yes, "hen and chicks" are considered succulents I believe. In fact, the link to Housemartin in this post is called "hens and chicks" ;)

I'm sorry about your friend :(
