stephmodo: A Deal on Tolix Seating

A Deal on Tolix Seating

• 18 November 2008

If you love the Tolix Mid-Century Stool or the Tolix 1934 Dining Chair like I do, but aren't as keen on the $200+ price tag then keep reading...I have a tip or two for you.

1. Call Sundance Catalog Outlet (487.3400) on Fridays...around noon. Weekly shipments come in on this day....and occasionally on Tuesdays too.

2. Ask if they have any metal chairs or stools in their "As-Is" section. The chairs and stools may have a few blemishes but are often unnoticable.

3. Ask for the price point. If the chairs or stools in stock run around $80-90, then they are in great condition, with a few minute scratches. If the stools/chairs are around $20 then you can expect more serious damage.

4. They typically won't place "As-Is" product on hold so head there quickly if you are serious about purchasing. They do go fast.

5. Keep checking back...on Fridays...and soon you will have your own complete set.

After several months of weekly phone calls to the Sundance Outlet, I now am the proud owner of a full set of chairs and stools...all purchased for well below retail price. And I couldn't love them more. I totally {heart} them :)

* Note: they do not offer shipping so if you aren't local, perhaps a road trip is in order!

  4. This is a comment about the diaper bag--I just bought a Vera Bradley bag that has been recommended as a diaper bag, so I'll let you know. From what I've been able to tell from my other (smaller) Vera bag, I love the quality and the adjustable straps! So maybe this wasn't helpful since I haven't tried it, but there ya go!

  10. Are these fully licensed Tolix chairs? I don't see the Tolix stamp on the back?

  11. They most certainly are stamped...great chairs! In France, where they are made, there are so many Tolix options. It's wonderful!
