Protecting Leather & Suede Shoes

• 28 November 2008

With the wet season approaching, it's important to take measures to protect your footwear. If you've recently purchased new shoes or boots, pick up a leather/suede cleaner and give your shoes a good coating of spray before exposing them to the elements. If you want to protect shoes you've already worn, take a damp cloth to them and clean them as best as you can. Then, after they dry, spray as if they were new per instructions.

I found my leather/suede protector at Wilsons Leather.

Note: After spraying a new pair of boots you'll want to keep them upright for an even dry. If they flop over, place a wooden spoon inside each leg (spoon side up) to keep the legs straight.
