The Meyer is looking lonely...and overworked...so we are going to {hopefully} doctor it up out-of-sight until it is lovely and in good health again. Until then, this kumquat tree is going to keep me company everyday. There is something invigorating about a citrus plant in a kitchen...

we have citrus trees in our kitchen too. every warm day, it's my job to move them out into the sunshine. they smell divine, as i'm sure you've noted. :)

I am laughing because I posted about citrus today too. It must be the welcome sunshine. I have a question for you Stephanie, since you seem to know my city better than I do - I need to get a mat cut to frame a postcard. Do you have a good suggestion on where to go? I'd like to go somewhere semi-close. I live in the Harvard/Yale neighborhood. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI am not as familiar with your neck of the woods but I'm sure there is a framing store close to you. I just can't think of one off hand. I typically go to Evergreen Art & Framing if I'm feeling like treating myself or to Reuels, which is always cheaper. They have a downtown location or one in Holladay.

ReplyDeleteI love kumquats as a child, living in CA we had the trees all over our yard. Now living in TN I can't plant one outside due to freezing. Having one in the kitchen sounds like the perfect solution!
Do you keep yours in the kitchen year round, or move it outdoors in the summer?
Kristin, we were advised to put it outside once June hits and then bring it back inside during September...early September. The rest of the year we have it inside, in full sun.
