Yummy Basic
• 26 February 2009
When in doubt, go "basic", but go "homemade" too. This easy recipe featured in Martha's recent "Our Best Cupcake" spread is the perfect thing to make if you need to worry about pleasing a crowd.
P.S. The suggested frosting recipe is nice too, if you are seeking a stiffer buttercream.
How do you make that cute swirl on top?
ReplyDeleteThat looks just heavenly. Mmmmm.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I was wondering the exact same thing, i want that swirl!
ReplyDeleteNow I can't stop thinking about anything but eating that yummy cupcake!
ReplyDeleteSusan & Venessa:
ReplyDeleteI put the frosting in a clear pastry bag and then cut a small hole in the bottom. The size of the hole determines the size of the swirl. Then you push the frosting through the hold and wrap the frosting around the cupcake top. It's super easy and requires little skill and few supplies!
Did you make that? It looks perfect, like magazine photo quality! WOW
ReplyDeleteThat is one attractive cupcake. If it tastes half as good as it looks, I suspect it's sinfully delicious.
