Yummy Basic

• 26 February 2009

When in doubt, go "basic", but go "homemade" too. This easy recipe featured in Martha's recent "Our Best Cupcake" spread is the perfect thing to make if you need to worry about pleasing a crowd.

P.S. The suggested frosting recipe is nice too, if you are seeking a stiffer buttercream.

I put the frosting in a clear pastry bag and then cut a small hole in the bottom. The size of the hole determines the size of the swirl. Then you push the frosting through the hold and wrap the frosting around the cupcake top. It's super easy and requires little skill and few supplies!

  7. That is one attractive cupcake. If it tastes half as good as it looks, I suspect it's sinfully delicious.
