Good to Know: Spring Fashion Tips

• 16 April 2009

Loving this short and sweet article about Spring fashion trends (what to try + what to trash = good to know in my book). I love that someone created a tidy list for those of us who feel slightly out of the loop when it comes to runway talk. I really don't feel like I have time to give this area of my life a lot of attention (okay, okay...I don't make time), so I'm grateful to feel a little more "in the know".

I've also read that gladiators continue to be very fashionable (this is the year I'm going to try them out--they looked so awesome on my sister the last time I saw her) as well as ankle boots. If you're interested in knowing how to wear the ankle boot for Spring, read this article and then also check out this look on The Sartorialist.

clockwise from top left:

1. ruffle shift dress

2. striped skirt

3. safari jacket

4. striped tee

I'm also very curious about the Elle Collection for Kohls. Has anyone checked it out in person? I noticed the pricing is more reasonable than the Vera Wang collection for Kohls (I wasn't a fan...quality + pricing didn't match up). I really like the looks I'm seeing online...

  1. I purchased a plain black top that looks very similar to the orange top you posted. It is the ELLE brand. I am very happy with the fit and quality. I found a really pretty necklace to go with it and spent a little over $30 (thanks to the sale and an addition 20% off).

  4. You are such a great resource for great resources! I recently bought a couple of tops from the Elle collection (stopped in specifically to check that collection out). I was happily surprised at the fit and quality for the price (they were both under $30).

  5. I've found the ELLE line to be well cut and reasonably priced- but I refuse to pay 'full price' at kohls, ever- theres always a sale just a day or two away
I agree with the Vera line- price seems a bit high for the quality.

  6. I love the jeans, and printed tops.
I also love kohls.com, and wish they would give out more coupons!!

  7. I don't even remember how I found your blog, but I thought I'd throw this out there...I love the Elle collection. At least, I love my Elle Monaco jeans that I bought for a crazy $25.00. I'd been meaning to try straight legged jeans, but all the other ones I'd been trying on made me look too hippy (as in, baby-got-back...which I do not) I put on the Elle Monaco jeans and they are my new favorite jeans. Favorite. They even beat my trusty Levi 518s that I've worn for YEARS. I hope they don't mess up the line before I have a chance to stock up on more pairs!

  8. I've purchased the Elle brand from Kohls' several times over the last couple of years, and have been very pleased with the quality + price... seems to be a good brand for those of us who don't quite go for the teen-extreme trends but still want to look stylish and fabulous :)
