stephmodo: Georgia O'Keefe + Ansel Adams

Georgia O'Keefe + Ansel Adams

• 29 May 2009

I've loved Georgia O'Keefe and Ansel Adams since my teenage years. In fact, at one point I had an Ansel Adam print and a Georgia O'Keefe calendar hanging on my wall at the same time. I'd really love to see this exhibition at the SFMoMA if possible...and to think it begins in only two days!

If you live in San Francisco, or are simply heading there for a weekend getaway in the next couple of months, stop by this gorgeous museum for a little creative inspiration.

  3. Have you ever been to Santa Fe, NM? There's an entire Georgia O'Keefe museum! I'm from Albuquerque and love to go be a tourist in Santa Fe--one of the coolest cities ever--and the museum is AWESOME.

  4. My husband's maternal grandparents met while working at Yosemite right after WWII. They got married at the little chapel there and moved into an apartment nearby while continuing to work at the park. Their upstairs neighbor was Ansel Adams and he gave them a photograph (with a letter authenticating it as his photo) as a wedding gift.

My husband and I just learned that a tour guide at Yosemite tells the story of their meeting, marriage, and gift from Ansel Adams during his tours.

  5. So, S., when can you come visit???? I'd love to go with you! I took three high school classes of Spanish III students to the SFMOMA last Fall
(2008) to see the amazing Frida Kahlo Exhibit. It was incredible! I don't know if it is still touring the country, but if you get the chance to see it, GO! Even if you think you don't like her art...it's very fascinating and educational.
