During the project, Justin shot portraits of 30 sets of mothers and daughters (some spanning four generations) over 30 days. In lieu of a sitting fee, each donated $25 to the Center. Hackworth is offering the same arrangement during the show opening, which starts at 6pm at the Knight-Block Building at the corner of University Avenue and Center Street. What a wonderful opportunity to do a little good and to also receive a unique documentary-style portrait!
My sis-in-law and my niece went down to have their photos taken. Turned out beautifully!
ReplyDeleteDo you think this is somewhere you can bring a child? I was going to leave the nosier one home :) and bring the one that can be quiet. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you're far to busy to answer, but if you were ever looking for a post idea, I was hoping you might have suggestions for food to serve at a house warming party. I want the food to be delicious, look chic (but be simple/semi-simple to make), be able to feed a lot of people, and be budget friendly. Just thought I would ask!
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I'm too late, but in case I'm not, I do have a few suggestions. I actually tried leaving a comment on your blog the last time I had a fast connection but something happened and I am not sure if it went through. At any rate, forgive me if I'm repeating myself...
The first thing that comes to mind is quiche. It can be made the night before, and can be served at room temp. I wrote a post called "Favorite Quiche recipes" that includes two favorites--people love these recipes. I was so happy to discover them.
With the quiche perhaps serve a large salad. I love the Insalata di Arugula (wrote a post about it so you can search my blog) and my husband loves "Salade de Maison" (also on my blog). They are different but both crowd pleasers. The latter might appeal to more people though.
Top the lunch off with crusty rolls or bread and some fresh fruit and you'll be good to go! Serve ice water with lemon wedges to drink to avoid any stains on your nice, new carpet :)
Good luck with settling in!
