DIY: Glam J.Crew-esque Heels
• 25 November 2009
Almost five years ago, Real Simple shared a fun idea about updating simple pumps with clip-on earrings. I felt very inspired and immediately visited a few vintage & secondhand stores around time hoping to find the perfect pair of vintage clip-on earrings for the project; unfortunately, I never found a pair I loved in my price range. Recently, when I spotted these glammed up heels at J.Crew, I immediately thought back to that Real Simple article and decided it was high time to give it another go. I have a good feeling I'll be lucky this time around and if I am, I'll report back :)

The appearance of etsy could make this project a lot easier now too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea, I have never thought about doing that, I will have to try it.
ReplyDeleteAwesome idea. Glad to see reality is setting in to retail and promoting wearing and updating what you already have.
ReplyDeleteI love that idea! I was inspired by JCrew to update some of my jewelry and I added ribbon to a few necklaces. I put one on my blog, but I need to update the blog and show the others! I love JCrew, but I also love simple DIY projects that look like they are from "somewhere" like such a store. Can't wait to see your shoes! :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. thanks for dropping in for a visit!
Very cool! I'll be searching too
ReplyDeleteThese are fun! You can purchase clip-on earring backs at any craft store and then slap on some fun costume jewelry or flowers. I did it and they are super cute!
ReplyDeleteI remember when I was in college and one of my teachers was telling me about this new magazine that was about to come out. Real Simple. (Her daughter was being featured in the first issue.) That first issue was so thin and cute. Now it's fat and cute. Fat and happy. What a gracious contribution to my monthly reads.
ReplyDeletegreat idea! hopefully the clips would be comfortable enough to wear.
