Spiced Fresh Apricot Crisp

Oh, you're going to love this one! It's perfect to make with the apricot bounty at the farmer's market right now (or in my case, on my neighbors' tree). My husband and I can't stop eating this crisp...we're on two days in a row now. For us, it's the perfect way to celebrate these lovely Summer nights.

  3. speaking of recipes, my kids have been in love with the grilled fish tacos. a true winner!! and tonight we had the roasted tomato soup that you posted a year or so ago--I made it with the last of our tomatoes last year, and I've been dreaming about it all throughout the intervening year. absolute perfection!

    I love your recipes--thanks for sharing them so regularly! I particularly enjoy your devotion to good food and quality ingredients, even if the prep takes a little more time. I must also tell you how often I think of your recipes when I serve a fairly elaborate meal to my children, who don't exactly appreciate all the effort--it's so nice to see you making a concerted (and delicious!) effort to maintain a high standard in your kitchen while feeding young children. So thank you for being a virtual inspiration. :-) I'm passionate about cooking, but so often I hear people say, "But isn't that a waste of time when you're feeding little kids?" I firmly believe that it's not, but sometimes the naysayers are disheartening--so thank you for creating a space where I feel empowered.

  4. I saw this recipe on Tuesday and thought that it looked pretty tasty, but where do you get apricots? That night my husband brought home a big bag of them from a co-worker, who thought we might like them. Talk about serendipitous!

    I made the crisp the same evening, and it is delicious! Thank you so much for sharing!

    And fortunately, we had enough apricots left over to freeze and make another one later :)
