stephmodo: Making the Switch to Steel Cut Oats

Making the Switch to Steel Cut Oats

• 15 March 2011

I'll admit, I've always enjoyed oatmeal. When I was younger, it was all about those flavored instant packs; but, now that I'm older {and wiser}, it's all about making it from scratch, using steel-cut oats. Their texture and nuttiness are so much more satisfying than their instant counterparts. Even my non-instant-oatmeal-lovin'-husband enjoys a hearty bowl of steel cut oats, and I don't doubt you will too!

I'm sharing some delicious recipes for steel cut oats over at Zupas this week. If healthy eating is anywhere on your list of New Year's Resolutions (remember those?!), you may want to give this post a look-see.

  2. I absolutely love steel-cut oats. It's the one breakfast item I miss most in France. Of course, I should make it myself more often. I have to try the overnight recipe. Thanks

  6. I love steel cut oats. I also love the Swiss muesli at the Bear Claw Coffe Co. in St. George. They make their oatmeal with apple juice and mix in yogurt and a ton of fresh fruit. It's so delicious, I've been dying to make it with steel cut oats. Now with the overnight recipe I might make it happen. :) Thanks for sharing!
