stephmodo: Amazon Fresh GIVEAWAY

Amazon Fresh GIVEAWAY

• 04 April 2011

I have some wonderful news for busy moms in the Seattle area--the grocery delivery business is still alive! This fantastic local perk goes by the name of Amazon Fresh, and it's become my new best friend on those days when schlepping to the grocery store is just not happening. And to think, I thought home grocery delivery ended with Webvan back in the day (r.i.p.); San Franciscans, you know what I'm talking about...

So, it's 9:30 p.m. at night, and I'm in my pajamas about to sit down to the computer for the first time that day. I have more on my to-do list than I can humanly accomplish and one of those tasks is "go to the grocery store". The kids need a few things for their lunches tomorrow, we're out of cereal, and the husband needs a new razor. This is when I jump on Amazon Fresh and place an order to be delivered before my kids even wake up. Yes, it's true...you can order from Amazon Fresh at 9:30 at night (or later somedays) and have your groceries waiting for you when you wake up the next morning. Pretty awesome. I have no problem paying a few extra dollars for such a convenient service.

Another great perk about Amazon Fresh is that you can order some regular Amazon items at the same time--they simply include them with your groceries. For example, if one of my children is invited to a birthday party that week and I don't know if I'll have time to take them out gift shopping, I can order a toy/game/lego set to be included with my AF order. Super convenient. In fact, I purchased two birthday gifts this past week on Amazon Fresh--a cool wallet for a 7-year-old boy (we'll put a few dollar bills inside or a gift card to the local ice cream shop) and a Klutz book/Friendship Bracelet kit for a 10-year-old girl. Not having to hit the store with 4 kids in tow? Priceless, my friends.

Today's giveaway from Amazon Fresh is very unique and structured different from other giveaways I've hosted in the past. It's an extremely generous giveaway and essentially allows 100 of you to win...and no, I didn't accidentally include two extra zeros! Here's how it works: the first 100 "stephmodo" readers, residing somewhere in the Seattle metropolitan area, will receive 50% off their first Amazon Fresh order (up to $100 off!). Basically, Amazon Fresh is offering you a gift card that gives you up to $100 of free groceries and products. Super generous, right? Keep in mind you'll need to be a new customer to AF to receive this discount. If you don't live in the area, but know someone who does, perhaps they would appreciate a heads up about this great giveaway--it's a great service for every busy mom (and let's be honest, what mom isn't busy?).

To receive the discount and view giveaway guidelines, click here. The offer is only good for the next 3 days, so hop to it and enjoy free groceries this week thanks to Amazon Fresh!

A few personal notes/tips about AF:

1. AF offers search options that allow you to be quite specific. They are worth exploring if you have any kind of dietary restriction or preference. For example, if you click the "high fructose corn syrup" button, it will only bring up items without this ingredient.

2. The seedless raspberry freezer jam is my favorite (buy 2 and save 15%).

3. Make sure you order the soft totes. The bulky plastic totes aren't my favorite; however, the soft totes are easy to store and reusable. When it's time to place your order, you'll be presented with the option to choose.

4. When it comes to bananas and avocados, you can choose "ripe" or "not ripe". So if you feel like making guacamole or banana bread that day, you know what to order!

  2. I don't want to be a part of the giveaway.

But just wanted to say that we use a similar company here in Paris. Since we have no car and no elevator it is really a life saver!

I wish we had it in Florida when we lived there but there just is not much of a demand there (except for the elderly I suppose ;-)

  8. I love Amazon Fresh! Having groceries delivered is the next best thing to sliced bread (excuse the pun). We typically just go to the store, but after a week of house guests and one sick kid, it was quite nice to place an order from the comfort of our sofa last night. We usually just unload the bins right away and give them back to the driver, but the soft tote sounds like a good option, too.
