Real Simple Makeup Recommendations

I am sure I'm not the only reader out there in love with Real Simple magazine. It's such a treat to receive in the mail each month and totally worth the $15/year subscription. That's a small price to pay for such joy!

I particularly love their recommendations on various things like frozen waffles, jeans, spaghetti sauce, hot chocolate, and makeup. Here are a few essential (and affordable) items to keep in your little toiletries bag per RS testers:

Mascara: Max Factor Lash Perfection--currently in my little makeup bag :)


Powder: Prescriptives Flawless Skin Total Protection Pressed Powder (I actually tried this and while it was okay, it didn't appear to be a great combo with the dry weather here. I'm interested in how it would perform in more humid climates. I highly recommend the MAC Pressed Powder.)

Eyeliner: Bourjois Khol and Contour from Sephora; some Macy's stores also carry this line. Caveat: Bourjois is made by Chanel but is much more affordable.


Lipliner: Wet n Wild lipliner in Brandy Wine (I've used this for years per my sister-in-law Caroline's recommendation--it truly is versatile).
