This painting resonated with me after having the opportunity to view it on Saturday at New York's Guggenheim museum. It is even more beautiful in person. The painter wanted it to express the love, joy and innocence of childhood. His life ended tragically, as so many artists' lives do, but his
culminating work was certainly exquisite.

For some unexplained reason the Guggenheim has a two story high dance floor; maybe they feel our experiene is enhanced in some way when we can enjoy art AND listen to loud pulsating music at the same time! Who knows! It was fun to watch the uninhibited enjoy the experience.
