The husband picked up a great flick for me via Netflix...The Giant Buddhas. He thought I would enjoy it and he was right.I loved this film because it visually exposed me to a part of the world I will likely never see in my lifetime. Also, it reminded me of the extreme danger religious fanaticism imposes on others. The narrator, on the other hand, is a bit monotone for my taste; but if you can get past this detail, it's a lovely film. Click here to view more.
P.S. Netflix is the bomb.

ReplyDeleteGreat to know this movie is out there. The Taliban destroyed the Giant Buddhas in 2001, so none of us who didnt make it there before then will ever get to see them. Thanks for the suggestion! I am excited to see it.
