With Valentines Day approaching I am sure I'm not the only one with this romantic (and thoughtful, and inexpensive) gift in mind. I think the perfect Valentine CD comes with both slow-dancin' songs and groovy hits . Guys cannot handle too many Whitney Houston-esque songs in a row and you do want them to actually listen to it, right?
Here are a few suggestions spanning the past four and a half decades:
Tunnel of Love, Bruce Springstein
Signed, Sealed, Delivered, Stevie Wonder
Love Train, The O'Jays
My Funny Valentine, Ella Fitzgerald
Sweet Thing, Mary J. Blige
Ghost, Indigo Girls
Like I Love You, Justin Timberlake
Through the Fire, Chaka Khan
You, Bonnie Raitt
Rock With You, Michael Jackson
Sweet Love, Kaskade
One Sweet Love, Sara Bareilles
Crazy Love, Van Morrison
Bubbly, Colbie Caillat
Love Foolosophy, Jamiroquai
By Your Side, Sade
What other songs would be fun to include on a Valentine playlist?
I love Michael Buble's "Everything" and of course there is the Cure's "Love Song". But that's me :)
ReplyDeleteI could add a ton, but here are a few : All I Want- Toad the Wet Sprocket, One-U2, Your Body is a Wonderland- John Mayer, Like A Star- Corinne Bailey Rae, Love Me Like A Song- Kimmie Rhodes (this last one is newly discovered, it's gorgeous!)
ReplyDelete"If You Were Here"- Thompson Twins
ReplyDelete"Awake"- Josh Groban
AHHHHHHHH!
for those of us with out a valentine and looking for some tunes to get us through, here are a few of my favorites:
ReplyDeleteLove is a Battlefield -Pat Benatar
Holding Out for a Hero - Bonnie Tyler
Vienna - The Fray
Picture to Burn - Taylor Swift
Jack Johnson -'Do You Remember' will make you fall in love again and the remake of L-O-V-E by Joss Stone is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI'll add Death Cab for Cutie's I Will Follow You.
ReplyDeleteAnd to the anti-valentine one I'll add the Cherry Poppin' Daddies' Saddest Thing I Know.
