It's night. The kids are in bed. It's quiet.
Love it.
During this magical time of night I like to put on soft music like Miles Davis or my Samba Blim album (thanks Kris for both!). My opera playlist, which admittedly includes more Puccini than anything else, is also a favorite in the evening. Somehow this special ritual makes dinner recovery or folding laundry more relaxing and less mundane. Given the chaos during the day I've come to appreciate these moments in the evening. Hence my transition from early bird to night owl.
What do you listen to when you're alone and it's quiet?
Nighttime jazz on kuer. Even when Steve Williams breaks in, his voice is so soothing.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about that unwind time.
I tend to go to my trusty ol' jazz standards. Ella Fitzgerlad's silky voice and Nat King Cole's velvety croon always soothe my soul. Love it!
ReplyDeleteJazz is definitely my favorite alone time music- John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Sarah Vaughan, Edith Piaf, Sidney Bechet, etc.
