Bakery Nouveau

• 31 May 2008

When visiting an unfamiliar city, we typically rely on Zagat to show us the way. Bakery Nouveau is #1 in Seattle, rated a 28 in the food category, and we know just why after gorging ourselves two days in a row at this authentic French patisserie. The fact that the head pastry chef won "Best Baker in the World" at a French competition should give you some idea regarding his culinary capabilities. In fact, the chocolate almond croissant was better than many I've eaten in Paris. If you are heading to Seattle soon, make it a point to stop by. Your tummy will thank you...maybe not so much other body parts (like the ones that seem to enjoy tacking on cellulite)...but do it anyway :)

While in West Seattle, stop by Alki Beach for a walk along the shore and then to Sunfish for tasty fish n' chips. One block down from Bakery Nouveau is another Cupcake Royale location, and a fun paperie called Swee Swee. I found some beautiful letterpressed cards by Binth marked down to pennies each.

  1. This sounds delicious!! If we're ever in Seattle, we'll have to try it. We discovered an argentinian gelato place last week that you will love--Dolcezza-- we'll go when you guys are out here on your way to Europe! Miss you!

  5. Hey Anon,

We love Discovery Park for a pretty walk, Cupcake Royale for a little treat before heading to the locks, and the Pike Place Market. Buy some honey from Moon Valley while you are there. It's the best honey I've ever had!
