Seattle Locks

• 29 May 2008

It's an understatement to say the kids enjoyed hanging out at the locks in Seattle. Watching the little boats come in and out as the water rose and fell was super cool in their book. I confess, I was pretty engaged as well. I can't remember the last time I witnessed this simple, but amazing process. I also like the fact that locks still exist to be honest. Good old-fashioned "technology".

After walking the grounds and hanging out at the locks we ate lunch at the tiny Lockspot Cafe, conveniently located right off the little parking lot nearby and Zagat-rated. Bonus.

  1. Beautiful photos! It was funny, though....at first look I thought that was a HUGE flowering tree above a wall behind the kids! I had to zoom in to see that it was a separate photo. Love ya, MOM

  2. I've only ever watched the locks from a boat, while going through them. Your way is much more fun!
