Dinner at Dusk
• 28 July 2008
Dinner at 7 turned into dinner at 8:45. Oops. Sometimes I just can't get the timing thing down :)
Anyway, we discovered that dinner at dusk is exquisite in the summer. The colors in the sky are ephemeral. The temperature...comfortable. And in this case, the view was lovely too. We almost ate inside, but then the cover of this month's Living popped into my head and I was again reminded how glorious it is to eat outside in the warmer months. Quickly we clipped some wildflowers growing close by for a simple centerpiece and transferred everything outdoors. We had such a great time outside-- that is, until the sprinklers joined our little fete :) Luckily, Chris moves faster than lightening and saved the day in .5 seconds (that was for you honey).
(Many thanks to Nana Becca & Grandpere who allowed us to use their condo for the weekend!)
Looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHI! I just have to tell you...I LOVE your blog!!! I found you through my sister (whom is also a huge fan of yours), Anna Jones. I have to say, your blog is my favorite to peek at...next to hers of course. =) I find your blog so interesting, inspiring and fun. Thanks for sharing your life with the rest of us!
ReplyDelete...and I promise to leave more comments to show my appreciation. =)

ReplyDeleteLooks nice! I'd like to know what you made.
ReplyDeleteWami,
ReplyDeleteWe ate the Barefoot Contessa's Perfect Roast Chicken, salad, good bread, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and strawberry shortcake (which I accidentally overcooked...oops!) with whipped cream and berries for dessert.
Gorgeous! Nothing beats good friends and good food! Is the tablecloth yours? I've been looking for some nice outdoor/patterned ones. Recs?
ReplyDeleteLove the familiar faces! Looks like a fun evening. I wish we could dine year round outside in Utah.
