Silent Auctions for Nie Nie

There is a blog called Nie Nie Dialogues, which I enjoy reading during a rare, quiet moment. Unlike other "motherhood" blogs that rant and rave about the woes of being a parent (because as we know, it can be difficult at times), Stephanie instead chooses to write about all the goodness in her life as a mother, a wife. She gives us fun ideas, thoughtful perspectives, humorous commentaries, and increased motivation to look for the small and precious aspects of this crazy journey called life (I'm still laughing about Stephanie asking her husband Christian to attend to his honey-do list topless) Now it's our turn to give back to her...


Many of you probably already read about Stephanie & Christian Nielsen's tragic accident (if you haven't, get updated here) and are feeling the urge to help in some way. Tomorrow, per Gabrielle's suggestion, I will be hosting a few silent auctions here on my blog, featuring a few adorable goodies I picked up in France recently. All proceeds will be directly donated to the Nielsen family to pay for medical bills and caregiving expenses for their four small children. The way I see it, if anyone of us were in the same position (mother of 4 children, in critical condition, and 80% of our body covered in burns), we would feel tremendous love and support knowing that complete strangers were rallying for us. It's times like these when we all remember what life is truly about--supporting one another and extending ourselves to others.

As Gabrielle urged, get ready to "get spendy" and in return receive some delicious French baby goods and other good stuff...like cupcakes :)
