stephmodo: Layered Looks

Layered Looks

• 28 January 2009

A friend and I hit J.Crew Saturday night for a much-needed GNO ("girls night out" if you missed the memo). We made the ideal shopping duo because she had birthday money to spend and I didn't :) That made me consultant and I loved every minute. I enjoyed helping her put together outfits and give feedback (when requested) on the ensembles. She loves the layered looks featured in the new Spring catalogue so we took both sale items and regularly priced items and created one-of-a-kind looks.

Just so you know, there are some great deals to be had in-store. You'll even find some new Spring items already marked down and when you receive an additional 30% off (all in-store sale qualifies for this discount), it's like shopping at Old Navy or Gap. I even broke down and bought my first piece of J.Crew jewelry...marked down to a mere $7 from it's original $55. And I think there is one left on a mannequin...:)

  1. Which piece? I've had my eye on the ribbon/bead necklace, but I don't think those are on sale yet...

  2. i love love love jcrew. but they've been making me so mad lately! i get emails every day luring me to their site, where they are always sold out of everything in my size. and they leave up pictures of things they're actually completely sold out of, but make you click on it anyway, to find out yes, its STILL sold out...
their spring colors and cardis are sooo cute, though!

  3. Ahh! I was at J.Crew Saturday night! I wonder if I saw you and didn't recognize you? I, sadly, didn't get anything but it was fun looking.

  4. I was really shocked to find Banana Republic doing the same thing--marking off just arrived items by 25-30% in store. It really is great for those who have the extra to spend.
