stephmodo: Sixx Design Interview

Sixx Design Interview

• 24 February 2009

I'm still over at Design Mom today...feel free to pop in :)

And, in case you didn't see the Sixx Design interview last week on Design Mom, you must catch up on it here. It's incredibly inspiring to know there are families, large families even, out there doing interesting things with their lives. Love it.

Here is one of my favorite tidbits from the interview:

8) What are your strategies for keeping a home both child and adult friendly?

Reducing clutter is the key to an adult and child friendly house. Be organized and ask yourself if certain things are essential. Keep valuables and art out of reach of the children. Relax, it’s just stuff. Home making should be fun. A well designed and functional house should be just that. Next time your child breaks something, remind yourself that “it’s just stuff.”

Amen!

  1. After my 2 year old somehow bleached our brand-new carpet, I was saying that over and over..."it's just stuff...it's just stuff...it's just stuff..." you may wonder how my 2 year old got a hold of bleach? We still have no idea.

  2. So fun to see you on Design mom. I loved this interview. After I saw one of their rooms with the Ikea eliptical table - I bought one for my dining table and we love it!
