Can you believe it? The renovation of La Maisonnette is finally completed and we couldn't be happier with the results! We are very, very satisfied. Funny enough, we hardly know what to do with ourselves now that we aren't running around at 80 mph :) I am so grateful for this project, for the opportunity to live in France for a season, and to see this beautiful cottage restored to it's old, beautiful self. La Maisonnette du Coteau exudes such a wonderful feeling and I have great confidence that she will bring happiness to all who sleep within her walls. She is happy to be beautiful again and we are happy to still love each other :) Extensive renovations are not easy as some of you may know all too well!
I am getting so excited to share all the post-renovation images of La Maisonnette du Coteau and hope to do just that very, very soon. It's funny, as I look back on the "before" pictures I can't help but ask myself, "what were we thinking?" They are s.c.a.r.y.
Stay tuned as I'm steadily rounding everything up...she's well worth the wait.
Hey Stephanie, many congratulations to you both! All your hard work well worth it, though I'm sure that'll only be felt only after you have a chance to decompress and b-r-e-a-th-e!
ReplyDelete...now go have some fun! ;-)
xoxo Natasha
Congratulations! I'm looking forward to the before and afters!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on undertaking and finishing such a big project in another country, no less. I can't wait to see the pictures!

ReplyDeleteSteph, congratson a job well done. Paul and I are seriously so excited for you guys to finish this amazing project. We'll see you SOON!
ReplyDeleteAre you back in Utah, then? I somehow missed that official notice. And I'm so happy for you- on both accounts: 1- that you finished La Maisonette, and 2- that you're still in love. :) I can only imagine the strain. But just think- you've done it and survived. That must mean you're pretty strong, right? Thank you, again, for sharing your fun adventure with us. It was delightful. We got to see the fun progress without doing any of the work. Now THAT's a renovation! ;)
ReplyDeleteSteph,
ReplyDeleteI have been a follower of your blog for about a year.
I am elated to find someone who is documenting their experience, as I also have dreams of living in France for a time.
Your blog has been extremely inspiring for me, so you can imaging how thrilled and surprised I was to randomly have dinner with your dad last night in NYC, whom I met through mutual friends--such a small and (in my case) fortuitous world.
With admiration, inspiration but mostly jealousy,
Jane
Incase you are interested; I have done several home renovations myself. Here is one: http://jordanferney.blogspot.com/2009/05/rennovated-nyc-studio.html

ReplyDeleteCongrats on the completion of the incredible renovation! I hope to be able to stay at your beautiful cottage someday! We had a trip to Italy planned last summer and had an unexpected pregnancy that change our plans…so, I’m hoping to make-up for the trip soon, and include France in the plans. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us! I’m quite impressed with how well you and your family did under the pressure, stress, and change! I have four little ones, so I can’t begin to imagine how you balanced everything in a foreign country!
