After we bought La Maisonnette du Coteau, I madly began clipping pages from magazines depicting interiors I was fond of in some way. I'd never thought about decorating such an ancient space, { and in a foreign country} and I wanted to both keep it authentic to its French surroundings, but with a modern feel. Tricky.
Sometimes I tore out pages because I liked the arrangement of the furniture, or the lighting, or the stain on the beams, or the placement of the pillows. Other times it was because I admired the wall color, the hardware on a drawer, a color scheme or the artwork. Inspiration comes to each of us in a different way and what makes decorating fun is combining all the elements you love into one space that is very unique to you.
Here are a few tears that inspired me:

That white kitchen with the black mirror is gorgeous. I loved watching La Maisonnette transform, and am sure it will grace the pages of a magazine soon enough.
