stephmodo: Best Banana Bread Recipe

Best Banana Bread Recipe

• 12 October 2010

For years I've experimented with banana bread recipes only to be sorely disappointed. Typically I find them too sweet, too bland or too dry; but I kept plugging away as I'm a huge banana bread fan and I felt determined to find a delicious go-to recipe.

Last week I reached my breaking point and stood determined in my kitchen to create a great banana bread recipe. I was reeeeally in the mood for a good slab...or two...or three (then again, who needs to stop at 3?). Luckily, my efforts were not in vain and I now have an excellent, moist, flavorful banana bread recipe I truly enjoy. A few things set this recipe apart from others you may have tried--cardamom, buttermilk and hazelnuts. Today, I'm happy to share it with you over at the Zupas Food Blog. Friends, I hope you enjoy every last crumb!

  9. The banana recipe I use calls for vanilla yogurt. It makes it really moist. I'm excited to try yours though.

  14. I'll have to give this a go! My go to is from Mark Bittman and doesn't dissapoint, but the local grocer sells bags of overripe bananas for 50 cents, so I haven't any excuse to not try this one. And with cardamom and hazelnuts, how could I resist?
