stephmodo: Christmas Report Card

Christmas Report Card

• 26 December 2010

Merry Christmas friends! How are you? How was your Christmas? Did you love that Christmas conveniently fell on a Saturday? I hope yours went more smoothly than ours...

If there were such a thing as a Christmas Report Card, I would surely receive an "F" in the following categories: holiday cards (and obligatory family photo), entertaining, acts of charity and handmade gifts. December 2010 was a challenging month for me and coming down with the flu the day before Christmas certainly didn't help. At least next year I have all of my return address labels, holiday cards and even holiday stamps on hand. I'll have no excuse to not send them out! To all of you who sent our family a Christmas card, despite not receiving one from me two years running, thank you so much. Now that's true friendship!

Have a wonderful week as you recover from Christmas hoopla, and prepare for the New Year celebrations ahead next weekend. Make sure you allow some downtime for yourself somewhere in between!

  1. So, you know, I think it's just 'one of those years'. I was talking with Sharmyn on Christmas Eve and we're both behind this year... packages sent? No. Pretty Christmas cards prepared? yes. Pretty Christmas cards addressed and sent? No. Christmas parties and dinners? No. Stressed and depressed by EVERYTHING else in life, so that you end up feeling a little Scrooge? Yes.

    {sigh}

    Yep. I think it's just the year for it. Makes you glad we're about to get a whole new year, doesn't it? ;-)

  2. Oh Steph, you just moved and you have a baby + 3 more. Look at all YOU DO. Don't be hard on yourself!
    I remember babies and Christmas, wow. Do less and enjoy it anyway!

  4. My sister-in-law never makes apologies when she misses a Christmas. She just sends really GREAT Valentine's Cards with well wishes for the year. Smart huh?
