Whining + Warm Fuzzies + Weekends
• 24 June 2011
I saw this fantastic mantra at a local boutique and was immediately taken...best $3 I've ever spent! Right now this substantial, letterpressed postcard is clipped to the side of my fridge, but I am toying with the idea of having it framed. Is there anything more apropos for a house full of little kids? Especially since school just let out this week and the kids are experiencing more "together" time than they've had in quite some time, if you know what I mean :)
I hope you have a great Friday and a meaningful weekend! What are you up to? Besides somewhat mundane, yet important tasks like Saturday morning chores, we are hoping to find a u-pick strawberry farm so we can drown ourselves in berries. Leaving the city and heading out to the countryside hasn't happened yet since moving to Seattle and I'm feeling ready for a change. Even if it's just for a day!

I need one of those asap.
ReplyDeleteI find summer to be totally stressful and exhausting! I always feel sentimental about it in retrospect but during - wow.
ReplyDeleteLynne, I hear ya on that one...I couldn't agree with you more!

I completely just clicked through and bought that. we need it in our house. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI need one too!! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day of berry picking! My boys were so grumpy and whiny yesterday and I had plans to go to my favorite organic farm to do some picking. I was THIS close to scratching it but I dragged us out regardless. The fresh air, yummy berries and playing in the dirt did wonders for us all. Now I have 10 pounds of strawberries.
ReplyDeletethis print is so true! love the layout as well!
ReplyDeleteThat is REALLY great, pretty much sums up how I feel (and my kids are sleeping).
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this!
ReplyDeleteI love these. My kids are so bored this summer....I think the older they get the more stimulation they need...the pool is just not doing it for them
ReplyDeleteWe always go to Remlinger Farms for strawberries, blackberries, etc. You'll have to let me know if you find somewhere closer;)
ReplyDeleteCan you please tell me where you got the sign? I want one for sure.
Yeah anywhere up north, Marysville-ish should have a place. Berringer Farms maybe?
ReplyDeleteI'm late on this post, but if you make it over to the peninsula, Graysmarsh Farm in Sequim is great for all berry picking as is FinnRiver Farm in Chimacum for blueberries a little later (although it is mainly for members of their berry collective)! We are a crazy berry picking family, so we go out all the time to save up for the winter! :)

LOVE that sign! Need one of my own.
ReplyDeleteLast year we got berries from Spooner Farm, near Tumwater - they were the most delicious strawberries I've ever had! Red all the way through, and so sweet - it would definitely be worth the drive. I don't know if they'll let you pick them yourself, but I'd sure be happy to eat about a ton of them any day. (They also had a booth at the Farmers Market in Olympia).
ReplyDeleteWhich local boutique did you pick this poster from??
ReplyDeleteAnon, I picked it up at Lucca in Ballard. Fabulous shop!
