Talk about bittersweet...my last li'l babe turned one last week! I know it's a bit cliché, but I can't help but think, "where did the time go?". I am so grateful he came into our family's life last year...we needed him tremendously. Never before has a family member been so loved and cherished and I believe this is because my children are finally all at an age where they truly understand and appreciate the blessings that come from having a new sibling. It's been wonderful to watch them take Gray under their wing.
We were lucky enough to be in Salt Lake on his birthday, so we celebrated with his birthday buddy India, the gorgeous daughter of my dear friend, Rachel Jones (she writes the fantastic blog, Black Eiffel); you can see pics of them together below. Our first stop was local favorite Les Madeleines for birthday treats; second stop: a new park to explore together via scooting and crawling :) The weather was incredible and all in all it was a perfect, relaxing day and just what we all needed.
Warning: I'm about to post an obscene amount of Baby Gray images, so if you're interested in viewing them, click "read more" below...but I won't be offended if you don't :)
Happy Birthday to Gray! My little one is now two and I'm nostalgic, and I'll admit it - very excited - about the fact that the baby years are now behind me. I am very aware of all the "last" events occurring, and I'm focused on soaking them all in. They are precious indeed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome guy! I can't get over those tow-headed curls. How is it that he can be one and we've never met?! We need to find a place to meet up ASAP. Happy Birthday Gray!!
ReplyDeleteSo, so stinkin' cute!! I'm dying to meet that little guy!

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Gray! He is SO sweet.
ReplyDeleteMy brother and his wife just had a baby a few weeks ago--their fourth--and their next closest kid is 11! It was a big age difference, but my brother emailed today how awesome it has been to have a baby at this stage in life. Their first three were born within 3 years of each other, while he was in law school and working full time. It was very hard. But this time they got all brand new pottery barn furniture, they have tons of help, plenty of money, and lots more time to spend on this last little one. He said "Now I know why people wait 'til their late 30s and 40s to have kids." So sweet, right?
What a cutie! My youngest just turned one last month and I am still in disbelief. I think the time goes faster with each child. Happy Birthday Baby Gray!

ReplyDeleteCutie! Hey--is that rug from Overstock? I have been eyeing one like it for a while and I'm wondering how you like it if it is? We just got an awesome Mad Men style couch from Room and Board and I wanted to get a basic rug and crazy curtains and pillows.
ReplyDeleteThank you again for all the well-wishes. You are so good to indulge me while I wax sentimental about my baby growing up...
ReplyDeleteJulie, yes it is from Overstock. I love it. I hear the 8x10 is sold out though...but maybe the smaller one is available?
Great pics! Can you tell me the name of that rug on overstock? I've been looking for something like that for my one year old son's room for a year now!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe he's a year old already! That means Ingrid isn't very far behind. And how adorable are those curls of his?!
ReplyDeleteAnon, I love this rug! It's cheap too. Here is the link:
