The Best Halloween
• 29 October 2011
It's the Saturday before Halloween and last-minute Halloween preparations are in the works around here (we are banking heavily on our "dress up" bin coming through here). Like all parents and caregivers, I am not only hoping to survive Halloween, but I'm hoping to make it a great Halloween--maybe even our best Halloween yet. Really, what we all need is just to have some fun and feel a little like a kid again (I may even make an attempt at dressing up...we shall see). In honor of the impending holiday, I gathered my 4 favorite Halloween posts ever on this blog and put them all in one tidy place for you (see below). I hope you all have a fun holiday, that no major mishaps happen, and that we can all trick or treat without precipitation! Wahoo!
How to trade meaningful experiences for Halloween candy after the night's binge fest is over (we call it "Solving the Halloween Conundrum" in these parts). We've done this 2 years straight in our family and it's now an official tradition my kids ask for each year. Major win-win here parents!
If you want to throw together a last-minute Halloween party, here is my party plan for inspiration and details.
Hip Halloween candy ideas if you want to move past the Kit Kats and Snickers.
And last, my version of Martha Stewart's Pumpkin/Gourd Toadstools. They are one of my favorite Autumn traditions and would be darling for the month of November too!
