Zara Kids

• 12 September 2012

On Monday, I popped into Zara in San Francisco with my mama. Gray desperately needed some non-truck/car/Star Wars clothing to mix things up a bit and for some reason most of the hand-me-downs from his older brother have almost entirely disappeared.  He is my youngest child, as most of you know, and quite honestly the only one I can dress 100% of the time.  Everyone else has some sort of opinion on the matter (drat!).

I made every attempt to stick to the boys clothes, but we all know that the girls sections are more fun, so I had to take a quick jaunt through the brocade, gold and plaid.  You have no idea what kind of self-discipline I drummed up that morning as I ran my hands across potential Christmas dresses and sweet coats.  Focus, focus...

Also, for some strange reason, I always (always!) forget that Zara has an e-commerce site (you'll find prices fairly similar to H&M fyi).  So if you don't live in or near San Francisco (or another Zara-sporting city), you can order frocks online instead.  Consider this your reminder...and mine :)

  1. So interesting that you did this post - I just found the Zara Store last week in Bordeaux, France and found the same thing for kids - adorable tops, dresses, sweaters and scarves for the girls. It was so much fun to do some back to school shopping there! So cute and priced very reasonably! Great looks this season!

  2. The ivory coat with the Peter Pan collar is too cute. How is the quality at Zara? We do not have this store in our area of the country.

  3. When I was in NYC recently I went into a HUGE Zara and the kids section was amazing. I can't wait to get more stuff, it's too adorable!

  4. Kathy, the quality is pretty decent--particularly on the higher-priced items, i.e. coats. I would try a couple of things like sweaters and such and see what you think. When it comes to t-shirts though, the ones that are under $10, they'll only last one season.

  10. The greatest thing about ZARA's e-commerce store is the free shipping! I often shop here for my little girl (the restraint part is tough). I think the quality of ZARA is a little better than H&M, but the prices are a little higher as well. Their little girl shoes sizes are weird, I checked a european shoe size vs. US shoe size chart online, and the shoes I got in the mail were still too big, just an FYI. But, in general, I love Zara for the kiddos!

  11. There are three Zara stores in the Vancouver, Canada, area, two of them with great kids departments and they are much closer to you than San Francisco! It's one of my favourite stores - you may like the Mexx stores, too - very European:)
