stephmodo: S.O.S. - Seattle Occupies Sandy

S.O.S. - Seattle Occupies Sandy

• 13 November 2012

Some of our friends, who recently moved to Seattle from New York City, are putting together a shipment of supplies to send to a couple of charities actively helping those affected by Hurricane Sandy--which is a LOT of people.  If you live in the Seattle area, and are willing to donate any of the following items, would you please drop them off at this convenient Queen Anne address by Thursday evening? (that's tomorrow!)  2453 1st Ave N.  Please set the donations inside or next to the box on the porch.  This is a great way to participate in aiding those who are in serious trouble in the NY/NJ areas.  While we are far removed geographically here in Seattle, there are still ways to help and this is certainly one of them.  Thank you!

Also, if you're going to be in Magnolia on Thursday, there will be a bake sale benefitting Sandy victims from 3 until 6 pm.  The bake sale will take place in the Edward Jones parking lot (3320 West McGraw).  What a fantastic excuse to enjoy a treat!

Items most needed:

Winter boots (all sizes)  |  Blankets (needed more than clothing even)  |  Diapers (all sizes)  |  Socks
Toddler training pants (size 4+)  |  Baby Food  |  Ready-made Formula  |  Evaporated Milk  |  Ensure
Pediasure  |  Canned goods  |  Applesauce  |  Dried Fruits  |  Nuts  |  Peanut Butter  |  Aleve  |  Aspirin
Ibuprofen  |  Tampons  |  Maxi pads  |  Testing strips for diabetics  |  Hairbrushes  |  Toothbrushes
Toothpaste  |  Soap  |  Pet Food  |  Toys

Please note that blankets, clothing, boots, etc. do not need to be new...just in good shape.  Thank you Seattleites!

  1. Thanks for posting about ways to help. It's inspirational to know our friends on the west coast are thinking of us. Although, I was not really affected, this is going to take a lot of time, money and energy to clean up.

    From a Friend in NYC.

  7. I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the page layout of your website?

Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little
more in the way of content so people could connect with it
better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or 2 images.
Maybe you could space it out better?
