A-B-C as easy as 1-2-3

Awhile back my mom gifted my children with this beautiful game. It is so pretty even you won't mind sitting down and playing with your kiddos. Since I struggle with this (sitting down and playing vs. getting something done), I am thrilled with the rediscovery.

The "Shapes" version also looks fantastic. You can view it here.

What are some games or activities you like to do with your children that you enjoy (at least a little!) as well? I really want to become better at doing this and would love some ideas...

  1. I recently made sidewalk paint when my nieces (ages 9 and 6) were visiting--they loved it. I did it again with my little M yesterday. I really enjoyed it and so did he! Equal parts cornstarch and cold water (I did 1/4 cup each for each color I wanted) then a few drops of food coloring (8-10 or so depending on desired intensity). It came off the front walk with just water, and came of M with soap and warm water. I don't know how it washes out of clothes...

  2. I'm so glad you are enjoying the game! I believe I bought that in that wonderful little vintage home decor/children's toy and game store in St. Helena in the Napa Valley. I forget it's name, but I always enjoy looking at the things there. XOXO Mom

  3. I love playing Quiddler and Blink with the kiddies. I also have this game...Samuel especially loves it, and the pics definitely beat those of standard Memory :).

  4. We are loving this game called Blokus. Kids can play it as soon as they know what "diagonal" means. And you will like it so much you'll play when the kids are in bed... loser does the dishes! :) Comes in a travel size for 2 players (which works well for a kid and a parent) or larger 2,3, and 4 player. We haven't tried the Trigon version...
