Inside Look: Liberty of London for Merci

• 12 May 2010

It wouldn't be a trip to Paris without a stop at my favorite store (especially with all the hullabaloo about the Liberty of London line for Merci). With a few men in tow it was difficult to get in any shopping time so my friend Paula and I were content with just one enjoyable hour drooling over everything in this fantastic space. I personally fell head over heels for the baby red Tolix chairs. I'm certain I let out a little scream when I saw them...simply adorable!! The only thing holding me back from scheming a way to take one back to the States was the 189€ price tag. Tempting though :)

Although much of the Liberty line was sold out, it was still fun to see what remained--suitcases, fabric-by-the-yard, crib bedding (swoon!), high chair padding, pillows, clothing for baby, and of course a few things for the grownup gals as well. I asked a sales associate specifically about the fabulous oversized envelopes and lo and behold after looking everywhere in the store, she found one left. One. I thanked her as well as my lucky stars and am scheming as to how I am going to
put it to use...ideas?

If you want to see more images of the space (they change it up all the time), you can glance at this post and this one too.

  3. Oh my goodness!! Just about every photo made me jump out and scream a bit:)! What a neat store to spend an hour in. I don't know how you just walked away with an envelope, I'm sure I wouldn't have had so much self control.

  5. Have you ever been to Casa in Paris? Not as cool as Merci, I know, but still some good eye candy. Also, I love the clothing lines for children at Cyrillus and Tout Compte Fait. I know it isn't soldes times, but doesn't that baby need some sweet French baby clothes? Sigh.

  10. Awesome! As for the envelope; I like to save cards and notes I get each year in an envelope like that (not as pretty as yours!)I label the outside so I know what year it is and inside are my birthday card(s), Mother's Day cards and things like that. Or, you can store each years Xmas cards too. Since you only have 1 envelope, maybe you can store paper trinkets/notes your children make you.

  13. Marlo, I've been to a Casa down in the south--in Brive La Gaillard. Kind of Pottery Barn meets Pier One ish? Is that the same one? If so, I really liked it--lots of dishes I wish I could bring back in particular...

RubyLuisa, yes those are mini Pantone mugs...what a gorgeous display, no?

  14. That's the very one! Yes, I drooled over the dishes as well....when I wasn't feeling ridulous for pantomiming a Christmas wreath on my head when they couldn't understand my French.
