Classic Children's Magazines
• 12 July 2010
Back issues of Martha Stewart's Kids and Baby magazines are like gold to me. Within their pages are copious amounts of inspiration...some of which could be easily applied to non-baby events too. You can find them on ebay every now and again (right now it appears there are a handful of issues available!).
Also, Donna Hay just this year's kid's issue and I'm dying to get my hands on it. You can order it from Australia here, as well as other back issues. If you can swallow the shipping costs, this is your best bet. I'm hoping that my local B&N picks it up at some point, although I wonder if that's even a possibility. Has anyone seen it yet? Any tips?
p.s. the winner of the $100 gift certificate to Shabby Apple was announced today. Did you win? Scroll down to see...
I have picked up all my kids issues at Barnes & Noble in early September. Borders also stocks them at around that time.
ReplyDeleteI own all of Donna's magazines, however DH kids is my favourite. I know if you don't have a subscription the shipping cost on back orders is outrageous but well worth the money. I still flip back through all of the kid’s issues. Whenever I am looking for inspiration for an easy family friendly dinner or getting ready for a party these magazines are the gift that keeps on giving.
ReplyDeleteGreat tips! Thanks to you both.
ReplyDeleteI am a long time reader and fan of your lovely blog. I live in Australia and would be happy to pick you up a copy from the local newsagency and pop it in the mail for you :)! Shoot me an email at kellie_fm@hotmail.com if you are interested!!
ReplyDeleteDonna hay is fantastic and no one should miss out on her genius :)! Enjoy the rest of your week!! Kel
I actually called the martha stewart mag and was able to order all the baby and kid magazines from beginning to end. It's a bit pricey, but I wanted them and after a bit of researching on the call taker's part, he was able to come up with a list for me of all the back issues I never got. I ahve found some at DI over the years. . .
