stephmodo: Fabric Scrap Tags

Fabric Scrap Tags

• 21 July 2010

After a recent dinner at Forage--one of Salt Lake's newest and tastiest restaurants--my friend Rachel and I decided to don our "crafty" hats for a couple of hours. We chose this little fabric scrap tag project from Creature Comforts, which we'd both viewed independently and loved. And it just so happened that between us, we had all the necessary supplies too--including both vintage and new fabric scraps. It's so great when you can make something practical and pretty using things you already have--I love that!

As you can see our tags did not turn out quite like Ez's version, but sometimes that's the way things go with projects and you just have to make peace with what you've created. Next time we will not forget to whip out the pinking shears and will definitely print out those little word tabs as well. Gotta love free downloads.

p.s. I also made additional letterpress tags from my calendar. Click here for the full post and how-to. It's a great way to thoughtfully recycle those letterpress cards you just can't bring yourself to toss (and with good reason!).

  3. Great idea to put your old letterpress cards to work as gift tags! I'll be saving this as an idea for my gift wrapping blog. I totally agree about the satisfaction of making something creative from what you have on hand. Love that.
