Much to Say...

• 12 August 2012

...but I am struggling to say it.  I am sorry I haven't attended to you here as often as I'd like this summer.  I have so many images and thoughts to share with you (50+!), but when it comes down to writing them all down, I simply cannot find the words.  It's as if a cloud descends upon me as soon as I open a draft.  Normally posts are fluid and my fingers race to catch up with all I want to say; so I am feeling quite frustrated with the status quo.  Has that ever happened to you?  If so, I'd love to know what you did to conquer the situation.

In the meantime, I will be prepping photos from this past weekend's Parisian style Dîner en Blanc.  It was a beautiful, spontaneous evening and a breath of fresh air from the wild concert we attended the previous night :)  Yikes...I'm not sure what we were thinking there.  Anyway, I am excited to share the dinner images with you tout de suite!  Have a lovely Monday~  xo

  1. so excited to see pictures from the Diner en Blanc. I've totally tried to type things I want to say but just find myself stalled. I just figure it's not time yet :)

  2. It's summer. The heat and laissez-faire of life doesn't help with writer's block, laundry, and meals, says I! Kick up your feet and enjoy the break! xo

  3. Get the kids back into school and then attack a project that has been hanging over your head. I find it very renewing to get something "done" that has been hanging around too long.

  5. I don't have any suggestions for getting rid of your cloud. I just wanted to say that what you are doing is beautiful. I don't think anyone who stops here resents the more intermittent posting, because when you do share it is definitely worth seeing and reading. It always makes me happy. Thank you for that.

  7. You could also post wordless pictures and then just answer questions. Just a thought.

But if you do need a break your blog will still be under my "favourites" that I will check back to anyway.

  9. I feel exactly the same way--my blog has been quiet, too. Maybe it is because we need to catch the beautiful weather when we can out here and it just doesn't feel right being in front of the computer lately? (Obviously I've been musing about it, as well. ;) ) I'm embracing the change and have decided that I'll come back to the blog when it calls to me...

  11. It may seem silly but recently, I've found that it helps to think about love. I think of the joy, the excitement, the love that I want to convey and that seems to better guide my thoughts towards the right words and away from writer's block.

But also, I think summer is such a wonderful time that it's normal to slow things down online. There is so much to savor offline.

  15. a new reader (and fairly new to Seattle/Shoreline :) )
Maybe the "cloud" that is descending is a help rather than a foe. . . perhaps it is a gentle message that you're to look elsewhere in spending your time or efforts. I find that when I stop and listen, and stop fighting... I am indeed led by wisdom to the very things I am meant to do at any given moment. Sometimes we fight those feelings because we don't recognize them as our own inner wisdom, or the gentle voice of Guidance :)
    Much love. Beautiful images.
