The Name Game
• 03 September 2010
Care to join in? We are at a standstill right now naming this little BOY! I'd love to hear your top 3 boy names...
Also, some thoughts and stats:
1. I am so deeply happy to have another little boy. Simply elated! When I look at my children, I've always felt a little boy missing and finally having him here is most joyous.
2. He weighs 7 lbs. 4 ounces and is 19 1/2 inches "tall" :) Not bad for 2 1/2 weeks early!
3. Did you know as soon as he came out of my body, all that nausea instantly disappeared? Even drugged up I could tell the difference right away. Looking forward to eating real food again, even hospital food!
4. Are you enjoying all these sentences ending with exclamation points?! :)
So about those boy names...
He's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll throw out some boy names that I love but my husband does not: Henry or Elliot.
no names sorry (we're playing the name game now but we still have three months)...but just wanted to say CONGRATS and glad to hear all is well!
ReplyDeleteI love our little "Charlie"....a good boy and old man name. :-)
ReplyDeleteRonan, Finley, ???
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
I agree that Henry is a terrific name for a boy.
ReplyDeleteAlso:
Harry
Liam
Aiden, Christopher, or Micah
ReplyDeleteSo precious!
ReplyDeleteChaz,
Owen,
Noble.
He is indeed gorgeous. Congratulations! Wow 4! 2 of each. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteI think boy names are so much tougher than girls, and of course I have two boys. Their names are Aaron and Nathan, which obviously I love. Our last name is a bit challenging. A third name I'll throw out which I absolutely adore but our last name wouldn't agree with..... Oliver.
Our favorites are:
ReplyDeleteLuke, James and Jude. Good luck!!
stephanie! congratulations!! a little boy is most exciting...luca, camden, milo, tate and porter are on the top of our lists for boys. he's absolutely adorable...
ReplyDeletei don't have any name suggestions, but congratulations! :)
ReplyDeleteOooh yes, I do love Micah too.
ReplyDeleteYea! Wow. How do you have such a beautiful photo already?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Steph! And yes, such impressive stats. (Finn was exactly 2 weeks early and was also 7 1/2 lbs and 19.5 inches.) Those tricky boys.
I love little boy names (simple, historic and european/jewish) and I'm sure you'll choose a perfect one. Maybe I'll tweet you my little list. :)
Congratulations! He is fabulously adorable.
ReplyDeleteFavorite boy names: Benjamin, Nathan, Luke, Nicholas. And top two choices are my son's name: Eli, and then what I will name any future boys: James.
congrats! he is darling. he's making me baby hungry.
ReplyDeleteas for names...?
mason.
ah, that's all i got. all my favorite ones have been said.
he is beeeutiful, okay my turn next
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I am glad everything went well. Cher told me about all of the non stress tests you had to have this summer.
ReplyDeleteHe is a beautiful boy. My three boys are named Jackson, Tanner and Samuel. I think Samuel would go really well with your kids names. Some other names that were always on our boy list: Joshua, Isaac, and James.
Wesley, Harrison, and Stuart are few I like. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteWONDERFUL!! I have to say that I am shocked it's a boy - I totally thought it was another girl! Having 2 boys myself I know boy names are hard and these are the 2 that were left on my "name list" and kinda wish I used :) Alistair and Elijah....and both sound good with Brubaker!
ReplyDeleteMarvin
ReplyDeleteBenson
Jet
Oliver
ReplyDeleteI thought you might have another boy!!! So happy for you both. I remember very well the wonderul potato and leek soup & the Breyers Carmel de lece ice cream bars you brought to me in the hospital when we had our 2nd son (salivating yet, sorry that was mean). Do you remember Ben holding him and leaving his finger imprints on his head? You kept suggesting Benjamin, so I have to say Jonathan, right! Without going through alot of thought, I have always liked Joshua (Joshy sound TOO cute), Jack, Landon, Layton...
ReplyDeleteYeah, Congrats!
Congratulations on your little boy, he is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteAs to names: Elias, Lucas, Hugo, Mathis, Jacob. (I don't know how they sound to an American, but they are pretty cool around these parts). ;)
Oh, Hurrah!

Congratulations on a handsome little baby boy! I love the names Benjamin,Peter, and Pierce.
ReplyDeleteCongrats. We'd love a boy too. How'd you get one? I'd love to know the secret.
ReplyDeleteNames:
I like old fashioned names. My husband's grandfather's name is Emil, like the masculine root of Emily. I sort of dig it. My bro in law's name is Henry and he goes by Hank, which is so cute. Aaron is my husband's name and I've grown to love it. You can't get much more old fashioned than biblical.
Congratulations on your handsome little man!
ReplyDeleteI like traditional names: Edward, Peter, Christian, Henry..
but I don't know the style of names chosen for your other children.
When I look at his sweet little face, for some reason I think Calvin, Oscar or maybe Leo!
Have fun naming him and rest well.

ReplyDeleteMy suggestions: Sterling.

ReplyDeletei'm currently all out of names...but he is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHooray and congratulations. He looks scrumptious. My suggestion for boy names is find a family name somewhere on the family tree and put it with a middle or first name you like.
ReplyDeleteMy sisters and I have a contest that whoever has the first boy gets our grandmother's maiden name.
Congratulations again! Enjoy every minute...of him & of eating!
Congrats! He is so handsome. I like the names Hayden, Parker, and Joseph. :)
ReplyDeletecongratulations and i love boys. so much less complicated than my daughters! i named my son Fenn, a family name. i also like Finn. my daughter's name is Kamden but what about Camdyn for a boy? happiness to the new family.
ReplyDeleteOh he's gorgeous. I completely understand the nausea. I had an emergency c-section with our littlest and the very second she was out, it was gone. Such a relief. Glad you're feeling oh so much better.

ReplyDeleteI like Luca OR August.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations

ReplyDeleteJeremiah
James

Congratulations! We just had our first, a little boy, six months ago. We named him Samuel Oliver and we call him Oliver. I was surprised to see how many people mentioned Oliver in the comments - I didn't realize it is such a popular name (my husband won't be excited about that...he doesn't like overused names). Good luck finding the perfect name. He's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy boys are Grayson and Madden. We wanted something very different and something that not everyone in his grade would have! Grayson (sadly) is becoming more popular but it's such a great name. I love James, too. Such a a strong name. Timeless. But keep it at James. Not Jim or Jimmy. Also, my dog's name is Lucca and I wish I hadn't named him that because if I had another boy I'd really want to name him that!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your beautiful boy. I love the name William Aaron (Will or Liam for short), Emerson or Brice or Bryce.

ReplyDeleteCort/Court (always loved this)

ooh, ooh - just thought of another one - Robert - another classic, strong name. Our girls really wanted it if their new baby sister had turned out to be a boy ;-)
ReplyDeleteAlso, how about Stefan - after his mom? Sounds good in French too. My son Peter is named after me :) (and his Dad - Edward).
Congratulations!!!! He is so beautiful! I think two of each is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteWell, it looks like you have quite a few suggestions already for names, but here are my favorites.

ReplyDeleteI've got an Alexander and a Julian, and still like them both after 6 and nearly 4 years, respectively.
ReplyDeleteMy alternate for Julian was Hugo. Perhaps in my next life.
Hooray for no more nausea and HOORAY for an adorable baby boy.
ReplyDeleteMy 2 cents:

ReplyDeleteIf you like different names, then you might like my son's name which is Jacek. I've never met another Jacek in the 16 years I've had my son. My other son's name is Keaton, which is a little more out there. He's beautiful, no matter what you call him. Enjoy!
