Links to Love: Including a Recipe for Modern Marriage + Key Lime Pie

• 24 May 2012

I loved Julia Child before I read My Life in France; but, afterwards I was enamored with her (and her relationship with Paul).  Therefore, reading this article last night in the Smithsonian about her modern marriage (while my pork tenderloin roasted in the oven appropriately!), was an absolute delight.  p.s. this article in Vanity Fair awhile back was fun too :)

I'm always eyeing something striped--this is my latest find with a price tag that's definitely budget-friendly.  I'm just a little nervous about size conversion...

Loving the latest colors from MyDrap linens-on-a-roll.  I first discovered these in Paris a few years ago at Merci, but thankfully you can now purchase them in the States as well.  These vibrant hues are just gorgeous!

When it comes to a non-chocolate dessert, this frozen key lime pie is absolutely at the top of my list.  I almost feel it's changed my life--it's really that good!  To help you maximize your frozen key lime experience, I penned a few tips in this archived post for you.  The picture is terrible (sorry), but the info is definitely worthwhile.  Make a couple for the BBQ on Monday!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

I agree, loved Julia Child even more after reading My Life in France. Her husband adored her, didn't he? I've always loved that photo postcard. So excited to read the articles. . .thank you for the links! And the frozen key lime pie recipe sounds delicious. Have a great weekend! Hooray for Summer!!! :)

  2. I LOVE Julia Child so am excited to check these resources out, thank you! I also have an unhealthy obsession with stripes. I just purchased this swimsuit (http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=52005&vid=1&pid=545427&scid=545427002) and have no idea if it will fit me or look good?! AHH. Also, I loveee those cloth wipes...so perfect. I need to break my paper towel problem. Happy Friday!!

  5. I have to thank you for your "My Life In France" recommendation! I picked it up promptly and found myself devouring it nightly last summer in Provence, while the children were nestled all snug in their beds. It was the perfect read! Perhaps you have another good read for this summer's France trip?

  7. Great Julia & Paul story. Thanks. After the movie I thought I had a crush on Stan Tucci but now I realize I have a crush on Paul Child. Years ago (man, am I old) I saw the two of them at a book signing in "The Cellar" at Macy's on Union Square in San Francisco and they were adorable.

  8. I aodred My Life in France. It was such a lovely read. Thanks for these new Julia links. And I also love your freezer Key Lime Pie recipe... although make sure that your pie pan fits in your freezer. Mine did not fit level in my vertical freezer and was a bit of a cold mess when I persisted on shoving it in at a severe slant.

  10. Steph- I'm so glad you mentioned this pie... just made it this past week. So so good!

If anybody reading this is looking to make a gluten-free version of the pie, just click on my name (above), and it'll bring you right to the recipe I just put up on my site. Since I've finally found a good gluten-free faux graham-cracker crust I'll be making this one all summer long :)
