To celebrate the 3-year anniversary of our little adventure, we would like to offer one reader (+ a guest), a week's stay at La Maisonnette during any available week from now until August of 2014. That's right, if you win this giveaway, you can choose any week that works for your schedule, whether high season or low. After all, a week in the French countryside may require some forethought to ensure that the tranquilité of the region can be enjoyed at a time that is most convenient for you.
During your week's stay at the cottage, plan on doing a little reading in the garden while nibbling on a croissant from Les Delices (the amazing boulangerie/patisserie in town) smothered with homemade confiture from the outdoor market in nearby Sarlat. Visit local Dordogne Valley chateaux (there are 5 within minutes of La Maisonnette), rent a bicycle, explore the village's Medieval cobblestone paths, glide down the river in a canoe, walk along the river during Sunset and then set off to enjoy some of the best food in France (don't worry, we will send you our list of favorite restaurants!). After dinner, come back to the cottage and watch one of the movies filmed right there in Beynac (you'll find Chocolat and Ever After tucked inside that armoir pictured below).
This giveaway will run for two weeks (through midnight on December 3rd), and the randomly-selected winner will be announced on Wednesday, December 5th.
Here's are the ways you can enter the La Maisonnette France GIVEAWAY:

ReplyDeleteWow. What a generous offer.
ReplyDeleteThat would quite simply be a dream come true.
After I came across your blog and read about La Maisonette I became mildly obsessed with doing something similar myself one day. 'By coincidence' I was talking with a customer at work one day and he said something that reminded me of your story and I told him about it. He said that he and his wife had a similar dream for 25+ years from the time they were newlyweds but never did it. He became ill with cancer and when he went into remission and recovered, they bought a house on the beach in Mexico, and they rent it out when they're not there. He said that life is about dreams and working towards them, and told me not to wait-to start today and work towards it over time. I don't think it was a coincidence and I am saving.
Like everyone else, I would love to win. Even if I don't I would love to book a week and stay in your beautiful home in the future!
Michelle

ReplyDeleteMy parents are currently serving a mission in France so this would be the perfect excuse to make a trip out of it!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, making this comment #651 in the long list… I have to say, from time to time over the years I’ve popped in and watched the renovation take place. I’ve clicked back when Design Mom headed south on an Easter Egg Hunt, and having visited France Miniature here in the Yvelines, I’ve been smitten by the water that drifts slowly by those cliffs.
ReplyDeleteAnd whilst it I’m smitten by ‘La Maisonette’, I wouldn’t sit quietly and nibble that buttery croissant, …..also that homemade confiture would have to wait. Instead, I’d be up at the crack of dawn, waiting for the sunrise, cameras charged…then once it was over, I’d rejoice in that lunch at one of your favourite restaurants.
I’d move from the restaurant back to a comfy bed at ‘La Maisonette’ and I’d sleep. Truly, I’d sleep, and sleep, so long in fact that when I wake I would have slept so much I’d feel disorientated. The sunset would be racing me and once I’d race out to capture it over that water, and shinging across the valley.
After all that my lungs would fill with the sensation of pure oxygen, and I’d settle in to a table with a couple of chairs and go over every single joyous moment….adding it to my ongoing project of ‘textures, tastes and tones of France’.
Breathtakingly Beautiful. Whoever wins your giveaway will truly have a magical getaway in store. Thank you for the giveaway and take care!
ReplyDeleteIncredible offer! Thank you so much!
